Murray Harvey
CEO AND FOUNDER
Murray is the CEO and a founder of Applied Conveyor & Polymers Ltd. With 30 years of experience within the quarrying and mining industries, Murray has a wealth of knowledge and expertise.
His journey began as a civil engineer, setting out subdivisions and roading contracting. Skellerup (a rubber manufacturing company known for its varied product range) stepped forward with an opportunity for someone with an engineering background to sell their belting and schedule their engineering.
Murray went on to manage one of Skellerup’s lining factories, in 1979.
After a period away from Skellerup, Murray was lured back to Skellerup for two years as a Business Manager and during this time he was approached by Apex Belting (now Fenner Conveyors) to consider selling belt for them. This would mean setting up a business to distribute quality Fenner belt.
Thus, in 1998 Applied Conveyor and Polymers Ltd was born.
The name “Applied” was a combination of AP (Apex) and plied referring to the physical properties of a conveyor belt that is made up of ply’s. The vision for the Company was and still is the quality product that is sourced for our customers, and this led to other quality agencies being awarded for supply of associated products – such as rollers and pipe linings.
“We are now one of the leading conveyor companies in New Zealand.”
that offers cost-effective solutions and extensive industry knowledge that makes Applied Conveyor special.
Despite being deeply involved in the technical aspects, pricing, and product sourcing, Murray is fortunate to have a reliable team, with Libby, Jason, Sean and Andrew stepping in when Murray and Lynley aren’t there – “they do a great job”, says Murray.
